Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation Hobart

Hamlet Downs near Mt Field National Park, Maydena and the South West Wilderness area, offers 4 Star serviced apartments or self contained accommodation and fabulous meals.

If you are travelling between Hobart and Strahan or visa versa, Hamlet Downs is the perfect stopover before proceeding. Relax, have a great meal using our own produce, enjoy a walk here or at the Russell Falls in the Mount Field National Park, or have a relaxing drink at the cafe next to the Tyenna River. Want some adventure, then we can book a trip to the fabulous lookout on top of the Eagles' Eyrie as part of the Maydena Adventure Hub activities or have a go on the Jet Boat on the Derwent River.

There is a 1.5 km walking track along our creek and ponds where our platypus, bird life and other wildlife are often seen.

Coffee and tea making facilities, minibar, laundry, hairdryers, radios, CD player are also provided.

Light provisions or a fully cooked breakfast is available at extra cost as well as dinner. The dinner menu ranges from light meals to a 3 course banquet. For something completely different, try our Greek dishes. Minimum of 2 persons and 24 hours notice required to prepare these special Greek dishes. We use our own home-grown seasonal produce when available.

  1. Take the following roads: A1 from Hobart to Granton, then the A10 to New Norfolk, then the B62 & B61 to Westerway. Go straight ahead 4 kilometres along the C608 to Fentonbury and turn left at Gully Road.
